These sporting performance and FAI-style flight flybar
paddles are designed for use with a 3mm flybar. They are
well suited for use on various brands of 30 through 50-class
models. Select these paddles when you are more
interested in smooth and elegant maneuevers versus the abrupt
3D-style of maneuvers. If your interest is scale, or FAI
flight, these are the flybar paddles for you.
These paddels are supplied with a lead insert, which may be
optionally fit into the leading edge. By inserting this extra
mass, the cyclic response of your model is tamed down making it far
easier to hover due to the increased dampening provided by the
added mass.
While standard paddles screw onto the flybar, these paddles
require a longer flybar, which slips through the length of the
paddle so that the threaded end sticks out. Then a 3mm
nut and washer are used to secure them the flybar.
These paddles are very popular amongst pilots aspiring to
perform smooth FAI-style maneuvers because the large radius entry,
i.e. blunt airfoiled leading edge, results in very smooth
dampening forces being applied to the rotor head. As a
consequence, the model responds more smoothly when
performing loops, rolls, and stall turns, which in
turn are elegantly described through the air.
